MSC Malaysia Certified Solutions certifies locally made software products through an assessment method against an internationally accepted standard; MSC Malaysia Software Product Assessment & Rating Standard. This international standard was developed by MDeC and TUV Rheinland, to assess the product quality element and process criteria of each software product.
Overall, 13 main criteria are assessed as depicted below:

The certification scheme consists of 3 stages:
Eligibility Criteria:
- Company
- ICT Company (MSC Malaysia Status Company or non-MSC Malaysia Status Company)
- In good financial standing (No claims, liability issues)
- Software Product
- Locally made software product
- Fit within the following clusters:-
- Healthcare, Finance (Banking & Insurance), Oil & Gas, Telecommunication, Security, Human Resources, Logistics, Agriculture, Education
- Limit to less than 7 modules per product
- Only the latest version to be assessed
- Not more than 1 outsourced supplier for development process
- COTS product is preferred (Commercial Of-The-Shelf)
A unique partnership between MDeC and TUV Rheinland for 2012 enables certified software products to use MSC Malaysia Certified Solutions and TUVdotCom’s logo mark for marketing purposes. Each certified products will also be showcased in thewww.tuvdotcom.com product listing. A sample of the logo mark :
